December 2018 Florida and Brazil Citrus Reports
The USDA report, released December 11, 2018, forecasts Florida all orange production of 77.0 million boxes, unchanged from the November forecast and a projected increase of 71% from last season’s hurricane-impacted production of 45.0 million boxes. At current projections, the USDA is forecasting the largest Florida orange crop since the 2015-2016 season.
The Brazil orange crop production forecast for the 2018-2019 season was updated on December 10, 2018 by Fundecitrus. The report forecasts Brazil all orange production of 276.0 million boxes, a slight increase of 1% from the September 2018 forecast and a decrease of 31% from last season’s final production of 398 million boxes.
